About the event
Nepal Engineers' Association UK (NEA UK) organised a 'Meet and Greet' Networking event for its members and non-members as well as new engineers from Nepal who have recently arrived in the UK.
The event, successfully held on Saturday 12th March at The Junction Coffee Shop in Woking, was chaired by current President Udip Rai. The Co-founding President Tejendra Rokamagar was also invited as the chief guest.
In the program hosted by Indu Rai and Avinash, Prof. Dr. Triratna Bajracharya, Central President of Nepal Engineers Association and Engineer member Sagar Shrestha had addressed a video message from Nepal.
Former President Rokamagar informed about the history of the Nepal Engineers' Association, whereas President Rai clarified about the establishment and activities of the association in the UK.
Mr. Rokamagar also informed the participants about the Darbang Hydro being built in Myagdi, Nepal and said that the investment opportunity is still open. He also informed that the engineers who want to do internship in Nepal will be given opportunity in this project.
President Rai informed that NEA UK would be developed as a family of engineers working in the UK, to enter the engineering profession in Nepal and the UK and to organize experience exchange and coordination programs for enhancing professional capacity.
About 40 young engineers participated in this networking event and badges were also distributed to the members of the association.
Established in 2016 and officially inagruated in 2017 as the UK branch of the Nepal Engineers Association, which has around 70,000 members in Nepal, NEA UK has grown to around 150 members in a short time and look forward to connecting to more engineering professionals and students in the UK.
